James Bond has faced some of the most diabolical villains ever imagined. With this app and interactive website, it’s your turn to transform into the world’s most feared villain and design a lair that even 007 can’t infiltrate.
Vilify Me! features ten notorious Bond villains, including: Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Rosa Klebb, Jaws, and Elektra King; and, five classic lairs, including: Blofeld’s volcano, Gustav Graves’ Ice Palace, and Stromberg’s Atlantis.
Using Villain Designer, take a photo of yourself and choose villainous clothing, physical attributes, and taunts to transform into a Bond villain. Then take the Lair Challenge: with $1 million, choose your lair location, security elements, and decor while trying to stay on budget. Your ultimate mission: prevent Bond from infiltrating your lair. How villainous are you? You’ll find out in the end when Bond conducts an assessment of your lair design. Finally, in the app version, you can e-mail or post your villain and lair to Facebook or Twitter.
Vilify Me! was created in conjunction with the Exquisitely Evil: 50 Years of Bond Villains exhibition at the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC. In this special exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Bond films, the Museum has worked with EON Productions, the Bond film producers, to showcase over 100 artifacts from the films. Beginning with 1962’s Dr. No to 2012’s Skyfall, the exhibit explores how the evildoers and their plots have changed to reflect their times and how James Bond has influenced the public’s perception of real espionage.
