I started working in museum technology at the Portland Art museum when I assisted in organizing a workshop that brought together the founders of Smarthistory.org and Portland Art Museum staff. The idea was to create conversational interpretive content that engaged visitors and enriched knowledge about the museum's collections. It was a success and in June of 2010, I became the museum’s first Interactive Media Producer and began working on many other technology based projects. I facilitated the development of a new multimedia section for the museum website, collaborated with developers to create a mobile app that showcased educational content, worked cross-departmentally to grow the museum’s collection of digital interpretation, produced several videos for the museum and project managed the museum’s groundbreaking initiative, Object Stories (check out Object Stories at objectstories.org). I loved my job at the Portland Art Museum and was so happy to have been introduced to museum media and technology!
Currently I'm a producer at an interactive studio called Fashionbuddha in Portland Oregon where I continue to collaborate with museums to help them concept, design and execute interactive projects. Whether it be an app or an interactive space, I truly enjoy being part of a team that allows museum audiences to experience museums in new and exciting ways.
